Follow the Son   Leave a comment

These show a bit of our sunflower patch. There cheery faces greeted us each morning as we ate our breakfast. They tell a special story each day as they turn their faces toward the sun following it as it traverses the sky. When their time is finished they produce seeds that can be eaten for nourishment or kept to plant next years crop. They bear fruit in death as well as joy during their lives. So many thoughts and teachings to ponder in the sunflower garden of life.

We are called, graciously and persistently, to follow the Son of God where ever He leads. There will be joys and sorrows, but if we are faithful as He is faithful there will be fruit.

You can see in the pictures some of the flowers have begun to droop as their time is almost over. They stop following the sun and begin to die. This is true of all who choose not to follow Jesus Christ, actually they are dead already. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23   God declares and identifies our sin and only in Him can we know righteousness. Earlier in the same book of Romans, the Apostle Paul, by the power of the Holy Spirit, declares that all people are without excuse as God has made Himself clearly known through what he has made. Romans 1. Who is a sinner? Paul again makes that clear in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” For more details read the book of Romans and let God do the talking while we listen. Want to follow the Son? Read the Gospel of Mark, meet Jesus there as He walked this earth, listen to His responses to those who came to him, then watch and listen as he dies for our sin and then the glories of His resurrection. After that tell him your answer to the question he posed His disciples, “Whom do men say that I am? Who do you say that I am?”

Tomorrow more about life here on the farm and what we have been up to. Be blessed as you follow the Son, embrace life not death. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
